Agri Rec Committee and Rossburn Town Hall hosted a full house Halloween dance on October 31. The Trail Riders of Brandon provided lively music keeping the crowd energized as revelers displayed a wide range of costumes in three judging categories.
The national amnesty lets Canadians surrender illegal or registered restricted weapons to police for a one month period without prosecution. RCMP detachments in Manitoba become dropoff sites, with name and birth date recorded but no charges if the weapon was not used in crime. The chief firearms officer will decide on destruction, training use, or laboratory analysis for rare firearms. A new FAC application procedure takes effect in January under recent firearms legislation.
Inaugural 1992-93 meeting October 30 chaired by Murray Bradshaw. Gwen Drul of Oakburn acclaimed chairperson with Keith Bartram elected vice chair. Trustees sworn in by acclamation. committees named with chairpersons. Regular meetings set for Nov 1 to Oct 31 timetable. bananas joke noted during committee elections.
