Saskatchewan farmers need fodder donations
Manitoba Farm Neighbours asks Manitobans to donate animal fodder or funds to aid drought hit Saskatchewan farms. The Mennonite Central Committee Manitoba sponsors MFN and SFN will distribute through twelve community committees, with tax receipts issued for cash or goods. Western Manitoba Cancer Society reports record year donations
The Local Cancer Society says 1985 campaign raised 218,752 dollars in southwestern Manitoba, about ten percent above 1984. Rural gifts rose to 107,877 with numerous towns listed, plus special events over 34,000 and the RCMP Relay Run raising 14,523. A notable windfall came from Steve Fongo’s Journey for Lives at 116,823.
