Rossburn Volleyball Teams Post Strong Start to Season
Rossburn Senior Volleyball teams have a solid record after two games and a tournament. The girls beat Shoal Lake 3 0 in an Oct 31 exhibition, the boys won 2 1. Nov 2 saw Rossburn sweep Elphinstone in two tight matches. At the Nov 4 Grandview Tournament the boys earned a Consolation final plaque, while the girls captured the championship and engraved their name on the Merchants Trophy. Both squads head to Swan River on Nov 11.

New Instructress For Figure Skaters At Local Club
With colder weather approaching the club announces a winter figure skating program led by Miss Joanne Antoniiuk who brings years of teaching experience. The plan includes figures patches speed skating and private lessons for interested skaters and especially encourages boys involved in hockey to consider lessons. A reorganization meeting will be announced in the paper.

Weather Event Struck M.T.S Lines with Ice Damage
Dull mild overcast weather persisted through the week. Early Sunday freezing rain fell, melting by day. Colder weather returned and damaged M.T.S. lines toward Rossman Lake as ice load brought down a section of wire.

U G G Annual Meeting in Regina Headlines Farm Policy Debates
Mr Harold Brown of Rossburn attends the 66th United Grain Growers meeting in Regina on November 8 and 9 with delegates from Manitoba Saskatchewan Alberta and the Peace River block of B C. About 80 farmer delegates will debate around 60 resolutions on grain marketing quotas elevator rationalization and labour at terminals. Delegates will hear from the Canadian Wheat Board and Canadian Grain Commission, marking their first postyear close appearance before farmers.

The Pelly Trail School Division board met and approved buying a carpet cleaning machine for division use. Aetna Roofing was chosen to replace Rossburn Elementary School roof. Fall term pupil transport averaged 1453 with 1536 in spring. Maintenance staff changes were approved including Walter Hutton and Gordon Ament. A Western Regional trustees meeting was planned in Brandon. Zone fees to be paid for Zone X. Rifle range plans and Major Pratt School discussed. Public Schools Act amendments affect board meeting timing in November.
