Pelly Trail S D Graduation Exercises at Rossburn

Graduation exercises for Pelly Trail School Division No. 37 were held in the Rossburn Collegiate Auditorium with an estimated crowd over 600. LuEllen Morton gave the valedictory as numerous bursaries and scholarships were awarded to students by many donors. The program closed with diplomas, God Save the Queen, a reception, and a dance with music by the Starlighters.

A community bingo event held Wednesday, November 3 features numerous players contributing ten dollar entries including Mildred Heindie Rose Chuchmuch and Alex Pawluk. A Little Jackpot of 125 dollars is noted with several names listed for participation and a Big Jack pot.

Community Schools Programs Offer Multiple Courses

Bill Martin notes Pelly Trail Community Schools schedule includes defensive driving courses at Angusville starting Nov 30 for four weeks and at Oakburn starting Jan 3. Each class requires 30 pre registrations with a $5 fee. Also lists aerobic jogging at Major Pratt Collegiate and various activities across Inglis Russell and Rossburn with government grant prospects for new offerings. An entertainment evening at Rossburn Collegiate on Friday Nov 5 showcases guitar Ukrainian dance and folk arts with demonstrations and free coffee at 7 PM.
