Halliday arrived hour from overseas on Friday met by his mother Mrs V Halliday and Mrs V Haliday and sister Mrs J McDonald of Fellows Passengers on the east bound were Mrs D McDonald and Mr J Laz aruk. Mrs L Hamilton visiting relatives in Winnipeg for a few days while her mother Mrs A McDonald keeps house. The Fowl Supper held last Thursday was a big success with plenty of fowl and other good things and a nice concert afterwards. Over $150 was raised. The Ladies Ail thank all who contributed to the event.
A welcome home event was held in the Community Hall on Tuesday for returned Japanese prisoner of war Pte Steve Kashatan. Rev M Shewed welcomed him and spoke of his hardships and torture, as described by the returning soldier. Mr W Metny served as host or organizer.
