Seventh Annual Scout Camporee well attended despite cold
247 scouts and 27 scouters crowded Duck Mountains for the Seventh Prairie Mountain District Camporee at Camp Oot Kwa Tah May 16 to 19. Participants from Dauphin Grandview Ochre River Brandon Minnedosa Portage la Prairie Rossburn Swan River Waywayseecappo Winnipeg Kamsack Langenburg joined in three chilly days of demos, competitions and firesides amid snow and gusty winds.

The Roblin Russell District Women's Institute held its 28th annual convention May 14 in Roblin Community Hall with 75 attendees from nine branches. Provincial president Mrs E R Jones urged women to engage in government and peace efforts across lines. Fifteen new track records were set at the Pelly Trail Meet in Russell May 23 with Elphinstone Collegiate leading in wins and Rev Kwiatkowski setting three records including a 117 ft 7 in discus provincial mark.

Variety Concert Draws Large Crowd in Rossburn Hall
The Rossburn Variety Concert on Saturday May 24 featured Master of Ceremonies Wm Kozack. Highlighted by Miss Clark leading a baton twirling display, Ukrainian dances in colorful costumes, violin and dulcimer music, a recital by a boy seeking his lost mouse, and songs. A bouquet was given to Mrs Zegalski Sr the oldest mother present. Credit goes to Mrs Chopp Miss Clark Miss Procyshyn Mrs Durston Mrs H Twer dun and Mrs A Verbowski.
