Five complaints were heard at the Village of Rossburn Board of Revision with names including Lorraine Joiner Terry Kurchaba Edward Kreshewski and Robert Kostesky seeking reductions or sustenance of assessments. The 1998 general roll was adopted as revised and the council discussed drainage district joins and budget issues along with dissolving the Rossburn Economic Development Board and approving funds to the Manitoba Flood Relief Fund. Accounts were paid for March and April utilities and general operations.
Manitoba posted a 2.9 percent rise in real GDP for 1996, the second best in Canada, with the agricultural sector jumping 13 percent and farm income turning from a loss to a gain. Personal income grew 4.7 percent, aided by exports, manufacturing activity, consumer spending, and rising business investment. The province outpaced national growth and shows signs of future job expansion.
