Opening Day Angling Season Opens Slowly Across Manitoba
Angling season in Manitoba kicks off with ice still on many lakes especially in the Riding Duck and Porcupine Mountains. Most big southern lakes open but northern waters remain frozen with only thin shoreline leads. Fisheries Bulletin notes open waters limited to southern regions during the long weekend. Walleye fishing is below par as fish appear unsettled due to variable weather and spawning in progress.
