High Fire Danger Strains Rossburn Fire Dept This Year
Dry conditions keep Rossburn firefighters busy with grass and building fires. Since January 24, the department has responded to fourteen incidents including vacant houses, sheds, bales, and multiple grass fires at Waywayseecappo Reserve and Angusville. Several homes and granaries destroyed. caution urged before lighting any fire.

Run-for-Life Dauphin 15km charity run set for June 1
The first annual Run-for-Life in Dauphin starts Memorial Boulevard at 9 30 a m on Sunday June 1. The 15 kilometre course runs 1 5 km in town from the cenotaph to the Post Office then along 4th Avenue N W and 1st Street N W to Highway 5 10 ending at Vermillion Park. Competitors continue along Valley River Road to the 84% kilometre turn point and return six and three quarter kilometres on the same path finishing at Vermillion Park with medical aid stations available.

Village Rossburn council meets in May resolve surveys and costs
The Village of Rossburn council held its May 8 meeting approving minutes from April sessions and adopting the April 24 special meeting. It authorized a Department of the Attorney General rental for court hearings about twice monthly and authorized two members to attend the Mid-Season Conference in Brandon on May 26 with expenses covered. The council requested the Attorney General undertake an additional special survey of part of South East Quarter Section 36 Township 19 Range 25 West to correct errors, plot previously unsubdivided lands, show unseen land divisions, and fix road boundaries, with costs to be absorbed by the department.
