Minister Leonard Evans of Manitoba Housing and Renewal Corporation announced a 12 unit senior residences program for Shoal Lake Strathclair and Rossburn funded in the 1977 construction budget. Sites are to be secured before construction begins with a local Housing Authority to manage rents set to 25 percent of gross income and assets up to 7000 dollars.

Historical Marker Contest Winners Named for Park Pioneer Project
Janice Michalyshyn and Mari anne Prosyk won a $15 prize in a Park Pioneer Committee contest to design a historical marker. One hundred students from Ross burn Oakburn and Elphinstone submitted drawings featuring churches pioneers crosses and old machinery. The winners were presented prizes by Mrs Mae Chwaluk at Oakburn. The committee plans a road sign and marker design with a Highway Department route through Park LGD to attract visitors this summer a STEP crew will work at Parkland Beach restoring buildings.
