New Recreation Centre Opens on Rossburn Main Street
E T s Recreation Centre opens in the former Pool Hall on Rossburn Main Street with Eugene Walowetz as manager. The venue operates seven days a week from 10 a.m. to midnight and Sundays from noon to midnight, offering coin operated pool tables, video and pinball machines, bubble hockey, and a Coffee Corner with submarines, baritos, ice cream, and confectionery. Plans include expanding the game selection and hosting a Snooker Tournament in spring and fall.

Lions seek support from R M Council for Derby Liquor Permit
The Rossburn Lions Club plans to apply to the Liquor Control Commission for an occasional liquor permit for the Rossman Lake Fish Derby & Fun Day on June 5, 1988 and asks the RM of Rossburn council for support. Council endorsed the permit, calling the event one of the year's two main community happenings, during a May 9 meeting led by Reeve John Mitchell.
