Rossburn Health Centre joins Canada Health Day events
Rossburn District Health Centre joins national health groups in celebrating Canada Health Day on May 12 1988. The event, co sponsored by the Canadian Hospital Association and the Canadian Public Health Association, marks Florence Nightingale's birthday with the theme Health For All All For Health. Activities include games contests and prizes and the auxiliary will sponsor a non alcoholic Family Dance at the Rossburn Town Hall from 7 30 p m to 12 30 a m tickets from any auxiliary member.

Rossburn Game and Fish plan co sponsored derby with Lions Club
A Rossburn Game and Fish Association meeting on Apr 28 1988 approved co sponsorship with the Lions Club for the June 5 Fish Derby and Fun Day. Plans include a 8 am to 6 pm derby with $1 admission and $5 entry, prizes for top pickerel jack and perch, and $75 budgets from each group for advertising. The Lions Club outlined events such as car poker derby beer gardens and cash bingo.

Prominent Winners Named in Manitoba Poster Contest
Justin Saley of Rossburn was among 10 winners in a Manitoba Natural Resources and Manitoba Forestry Association poster contest. Saley earned honorable mention and $10 in the high school category for Growing Together with the White Spruce. First prize $50 went to Robert Cormack of St. John’s High School Winnipeg. Nicole Segall of Grant Park High School won $25 for second place. Winning posters were displayed at Kildonan Place Shopping Centre May 4–7 during National Forest Week.

Wanderer's Registry aids Alzheimer victims in Manitoba
Manitoba RCMP detachments support a Wanderer's Registry for Alzheimer patients, operating since May 1. Winnipeg and Brandon already host registries, with over forty names in Winnipeg since fall 1987. The program helps locate missing victims and return them to families or caregivers as Manitoba becomes the first province to offer a province wide registry. Registration forms are available through RCMP detachments.
