MEARS Mr Victor Bereza is employed at Roy Hasiuk's for spring work. Mr Wom Verboweisky and family have moved to Angusville district. Mr and Msatt Oryniak of Winnipeg are visiting their parents and relatives in this district. Mr Alex Jomber has moved to the new farm formerly owned by Mr Peter Kaban. Pte Anton Maydaniuk stationed at Williams Lake BC spending his furlough with parents and relatives here. Mise Helen Derlago employed at Russell Siered Heart Hospital is visiting at her home here.
For sale a Rossburn elevator house and lot with long frontage about 400 feet and a stable. Contact L. V. Lawess secretary. Also born at Fussell hospital Monday May 14 to Mr and Mrs Clubley a daughter.
A successful box social on May 8 raised 2365 for the Winnipeg Red Cross unit. Items donated include 14 men’s pajamas infants gowns and various knitted garments such as sweaters gloves socks and scarves. The Exford unit forwarded the funds and goods to Winnipeg as part of wartime relief efforts.

The Soldiers Aid held its monthly meeting in the club room on Monday May 7. Members sang On Canada and Praise God from whom all blessings flow. Mrs Huston offered a prayer of thanks for V E day. A quilting event was announced to be held in the near future.
