Rossburn Regional Library reports a strong book exchange last Monday with more books left than before. The Librarian notes an excellent selection and lists weekly hours including Tuesday to Thursday 3 to 6 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m., Friday story time 3 to 4 p.m., and Saturday 1 to 5 p.m.

Mother's Day Smorgasbord at Rossburn School
Judy Mankir, president of the Rossburn Collegiate Student Council, awarded chrysanthemum corsages to five mothers on May 11 during the Mother's Day Smorgasbord. Recipients were Mrs. M. Rossman Lake Camporee Set for May Weekend
The Rossburn Venturer Co hosts the third Rossman Lake Camporee May 16 to 19 drawing about 150 boys and 40 plus leaders from Brandon Oakburn Portage la Prairie Strathclair Birtle Dauphin Grandview Killarney Roblin Shilo and Rossburn Cubs. Ernie Stefanuk named honorary camp chief while Rick Plaisier leads as camp chief with Jim Procyk as assistant. Activities include canoeing swimming archery wrestling mini Olympics hikes obstacle courses games and campfire songs. Visitor's Day is Sunday May 18 from 2 to 8 pm with a 7 pm interdenominational church service led by Rev. Merle Lee.

The Rossburn Village Council met May 8 at 7:30 p.m. with Mayor Louis Kurchaba presiding. Motions unanimous include appointing Harold Slow Deputy Fire Chief, granting $50 to Rossburn Minor Baseball for a 5 team 1975 season, considering a village clean up plan, approving April 1975 utility reports, sending the utility truck to Werbowski Bros. for repairs, donating $10 to the Children's Aid Society, accepting secretary treasurer correspondence, Tasking Lions Club with purchasing a town hall PA system, installing a kitchen area phone, supplying garbage bags for a May 10 1975 Clean-A-Thon, noting Dwight Thompson as resident Manitoba Hydro representative, approving accounts after finance committee certification, and adjourning to June 12 at 7:30 p.m.
