A farewell gathering for Mrs Robinson was held as she moves to a new farm in the Mc Connell district with friends presenting gifts for her new home. The Oakburn Ladies Aid met May 1 at Mrs Geo Menzies for plans on the annual bazaar and lunch. Miss M J Menzies visited Oakburn from Rossburn Teaching Staff. Mr Tony Gerius returned from Manitoba University. Mr and Mrs Joe Sitko traveled to Winnipeg with John Maliation. Mrs Sitko stayed for medical care. Mr and Mrs George Ogloff and daughters Olga and Cathie, with Mr and Mrs Mike Stebleski, drove to Brandon last week.

A fundraising event at Ekford school aims to aid Misami Paul Mushumanski following a recent fire. Neighbors and local residents are invited to support the effort during May 167 to 169.

In honor of Mr and Mrs Hamilton of Rossburn the couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a dinner at Paris Cafe. Youngest daughter presented a two tier cake. toasts were given by L W Collins and Wm Campbell. The couple married May 11 1897 and have three daughters and 14 great grandchildren.
