Rural Manitoba Budget Focuses on Health, Infrastructure, Economy
Budget 2000, announced by Finance Minister Greg Selinger, prioritizes rural health care access with 5 million in ambulance funding, new programs to replace old ambulances, and expanded physician recruitment. It renews infrastructure with 33 million to rural municipalities, 177 million for roads and bridges, 18 million for water and sewer, and 4 million for anticipated federal programs, plus REDI funding and 400 public Internet sites.
