Denise Trakalo of Rosburn Recreation Commission organized a three hour show featuring hypnotist Tyzen. Fourteen volunteers were invited on stage and five were hypnotized, performing actions like flying a space shuttle and rocking in a band for the audience.
Town of Rossburn council discussed Emergency Response Team training with about 95 RCMP and military personnel slated for May 23 to 25 in the Rossburn area. A critical incident scenario within town limits requires council permission. Ed Kreshewski sought permission to erect a fence along the lagoon drainage ditch SW 34-19-25. approval granted. Mayor Kalyniuk announced beautification orders of eight concrete and four hanging planters for the main business section, plus mini lights for trees. By-law 2000-896 to adopt the town budget and five year capital plan passed after second and third readings. The 2001 Board of Revision was set for Oct. 26. An agreement with Municipal Sewer Maintenance Ltd. for five-year sewer cleaning was approved. The 2000 Rossburn Fire Department budget of 22355.00, with the town share 8383.72, was approved, down from 1999. Members’ 2000 sick leave balances were noted. The Antoniw Blacksmith Shop was deemed beyond repair and a health hazard. removal or demolition may be required under municipal act. Building inspection dated July 21, 1998 referenced in the file.
