The Rossburn 4 H Sewing Sisters held Achievement Night May 7 at Rossburn Collegiate with a large crowd. Red ribbons awarded to all. one blue ribbon noted. Demonstrations by unit and members followed with selections advancing to the Rally at Birtle and to Camp Welmen.

Mid West Minor Baseball Leagues Seek Sponsors and Trophy Rewards
R A Brown, president of the Mid West Minor Baseball League, announces 67 teams across 14 leagues with age groups from Pee Wee to Bison. League finals are planned for July in Binsgarth. Sponsors are sought for challenge trophies, with Mosquito and Bison trophies already funded. Trophy holders must defend against challengers or lose the trophy, games to be played after July first to season end.

At the May 6 meeting of the Rossburn Lions Club members approved a $100 donation to support the Minor baseball team in Rossburn in response to an appeal for financial help.

At Birtle from May 4 to 7 Rossburn Elementary earned three firsts out of five entries. The Grade 1 percussion band led with 85 marks, Grade 1 2 choir Grasshoppers and Up the Rickety Staircase tied at first with 169, and Grade 5 6 choir Come Loyal Hearts and Canadian Boat Song led with 167.

Tax Levy Set At Rural Council Meeting
The Rural Municipality of Rossburn council met May 11 1971 in the council chambers. Members present were Reeve John Mitchell and councillors Drul Hyra Trakalo Kowal. The meeting approved April 30 1971 financials and accepted tenders from Parkway Cooperative Limited for fuel and related costs. By Law 956 and 955 were read and passed after consideration of transfers and public notices. The council planned a July 13 1971 tax sale if needed and approved a public auction for NE 36-19-25 and related parcels. They allocated 3000 to the Senior Citizens Home fund, adopted 1971 estimates, and adjourned to June 8 1971.
