Secondary School Area Discussed at Friday Meet
SSHCRN A meeting was held Friday afternoon May 6 in Rossburn Town Hall to discuss a proposed secondary school area. Bob Dalton of Winnipeg represented the department of education with Inspectors Funk and Laboissier also in attendance. The briefing highlighted that out of 2200 Manitoba districts only about 320 offer secondary instruction and only one seventh have facilities for all students, creating unequal access and building strains.

Rossburn Rural Council Meets Adopts Pensions and Vaccination Plan
The R M of Rossburn council with Reeve Shust in chair read and confirmed last minutes and adopted the financial report. Delegations complained about roads while two Old Age Assistance pensions and one Disability Allowance were approved. A $30 Red Cross grant was approved. Petitions will be posted in local post offices to gauge support for a by law on compulsory vaccination for Bangs Disease. The next meeting is set for June 4, 1955 at 1 PM.
