NASA style rocket project at Rossburn School
Students Derek Saley Devin Saley and Brendan White completed a NASA like enrichment at Rossburn Elementary under Joyce Smycnnik Iris Furman and Rob Tomlinson. With a one million dollar budget they bought pop bottle supplies to build two litre rockets aiming for maximum height. They tracked funds in Excel and followed Heavier Than Air Flight principles while building and testing in a safe area. After a faulty launcher caused an initial scrub the second launch succeeded. They collected flight data, calculated heights, created bar graphs and a multimedia PowerPoint presentation detailing budget flight data and photos.
