About two hundred visitors toured the new offices stock room and waiting area enjoyed coffee and doughnuts. Ford representatives presented Maron Slow with the Gold Truck Sales Leadership Award plaque for 1964.

Obituary: Mrs Alvira J Skidmore dies after long illness
Mrs Alvira J Skidmore died May 1 at Selkirk General Hospital after a lengthy illness at age 58. Born in Goldrock Ontario she lived in Manitoba since infancy in the Rossburn district. She trained at Winnipeg General Hospital in 1929 and worked in several hospitals including Winnipeg General 1959 1964. Survived by husband Andrew five grandchildren and many relatives. A memorial service was held May 4 at Knox Presbyterian Church Selkirk.

Grass Fire Damages Garage and Tools in Town
A grass fire around 7 p.m. Tuesday damaged Bill Hryciuk’s 20 by 20 foot frame garage and its contents. The blaze, driven by strong south winds, injured a Massey 30 tractor and damaged a truck, tools, drill, and interior. Firefighters contained the flames but estimated damage near $2500. Earlier a grass fire near the creamery prompted another emergency.
