Steve Boychuk 62 Buried At Rossburn

Funeral services for Steve Boychuk were held in Rossburn with burial at the Rossburn Greek Catholic cemetery. The 62 year old died suddenly last Wednesday after noon while lifting a bundle of shingles in a lumber yard. He was born in New Ukraine in 1886 and moved to the Heal Lack district in 1906 before settling in Rossburn. Survived by wife, one son and three daughters.

Rossburn Fair Date Set For July 23rd

Rossburn Agricultural Society directors meet in the Club Room this Saturday at 8 p.m. to finalize plans for the annual Rossburn Fair on Friday July 23. Calf Club members are told time is short and competition will be keen, so exhibitors should prepare now.

Mother's Day Concert Sunday in Rossburn Town Hall

Plan to attend the Mother's Day Concert in Rossburn Town Hall on Sunday May 9 at 2 p.m. The program features English and Ukrainian items by children from Rossburn Angusville Oakburn and nearby districts. Carnations may be obtained at the door for a silver collection. Everyone welcome. Sponsored by the Ukrainian Women's Social.

Easter Visits Across Canada and Ontario

OSHA Mr and Mrs Alex Prosak left for Vancouver last week. Miss Anne Michasin arrived Winnipeg to spend Easter viah her parents. Mr Jos Rushton has returned on after spending the winter. Misses Mary and Margie Nistranski arrived from Portage la Prairie to spend their Easter with their parents. Miss Race Hutsil and Mr Paul Hutsil have arrived home after visiting their sister at Atikokan Ontario.

Very Successful Social Evening Held

The Birthday Cake Social sponsored by the Junior Ladies Aid drew over 700 attendees. Prize winners were Mrs. N. Major and John Coughen for Crokinole. A cafeteria lunch and birthday cake closed the event with a progressive auction for leftovers. Donations came from those unable to attend.

Easter Visitors and Weather Hint at Seeding Pace

Glen Elmo residents host visitors for Easter as the forecast suggests seeding could be general by week’s end. Pete Hyska of Rossburn visited family and returned with the car. John Shomorowski has been discharged after a broken leg and is doing well. Willow Creek and Birdtail River damage to roads is lighter than in recent years. Mother's Day concert planned at Glen Elmo School on May 9 with teachers and children.

Dan Sabeski adds an upstairs to his butcher shop improving the building. Miss Alice Rinn visits Olive Chuchmuch at Sandy Lake during Greek Catholic Easter.
