The staff reports a successful first yearbook with numerous photos and articles to interest readers. The Oakburn Players presented Cap and Gown to an appreciative audience. Adults are invited to graduation at Town Hall on May 16 with copies available for $1 mailed to out of town subscribers.
Public Speaking Contest Planned in Rossburn
Plans are underway for the Rossburn Boys' Calf Club and Rossburn Agricultural Society public speaking contest. It will be held Friday May 12 at 8 30 p m in Rossburn Town Hall. Speakers include Percy Chegwin Kenneth Brown Joyce Mitchell Paul Ukrainetz and Rossburn School students. Afterward Extension Service films will be shown by the Department of Agriculture.

Nellie Leschasin Dies After Brief Illness at Marco Family Farm
Nellie Leschasin of Marco, born 1902, died April 1 at Russell Hospital after a short illness. Wife of John Leschasin, mother of Elaine and William, she was secretary treasurer of the Marco Women's Society and active in church and community work. Funeral April 5 at St Peters Church drew a large crowd. interment in Rossburn country cemetery.

Last Rites For 1899 Pioneer Frank Blaskiewicz
Frank Blaskiewicz longtime Rossburn resident and 1899 settler died at his home on April 29 1950 aged 93 Born in Poland he arrived in Canada with his family and farmed near Rossburn until 1935 He is survived by his wife four sons five daughters twenty five grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren Funeral services were held May 2 at the Rossburn Roman Catholic Church with interment in the local Roman Catholic cemetery
