RCMP Reports March Nuisance and Theft Incidents at Lizard Point
On March 17 the Rossburn Detachment received a nuisance phone call complaint from the Lizard Point Indian Reserve. March 18 saw intoxicated male detentions under the IPD Act and a theft of beer bottles from a garage in Angusville. Investigations note a suspect intoxicated male then lodged, and a vehicle seizure in Rossburn for no driver's license. Further March 21 theft of identification on the Lizard Point Reserve and a suspicious-person report in Rossburn preceded an assault on March 22 and a sexual assault inquiry on March 23.

Mitch captures three gold medals at Games
Lecia Mitch daughter of Peter and Sophie Mitch from Rossburn returned from the Canadian Special Olympic Winter Games with three gold medals. The 20 year old Minnedosa resident travelled to Edmonston New Brunswick to compete in the Games held earlier this month and won gold in 400 metre and one kilometre speed skating events.

Farm fuel dyeing program to resume in Manitoba
Finance Minister Eugene Kostyra and Agriculture Minister Leonard Harapiak announced the resumption of Manitoba's farm fuel dyeing program. Farmers may import fuel from the United States, have it dyed purple to show tax exemption, and obtain tax reductions. Dyeing for loads of 500 U.S. gallons or more must be arranged through local agricultural representatives at least three days before importation, with dyeing at mutually convenient locations.
