The third annual fashion show runs Thursday April 4 at 2 30 pm in the 4H building on the Provincial Exhibition Grounds Brandon. Garments by Manitoba manufacturers feature coats suits dresses and sportswear for all ages with tickets at the door for 50 cents and free bus transport from Wheat City Arena.
The Ukrainian Catholic Church lists Lent observances with a Friday 10:00 am Mass for the deceased and Stations of the Cross at 7:30 pm. Rev. J. Lehky oversees services on March 1963 27 30 Rossburn.
The United Church of Canada shares a Sunday timetable with VISTA events. Sunday School at 2:00 p.m. and a Church Service at 2:30 p.m. Rossburn hosts Sunday School at 10:30 a.m. followed by a Service of Worship at 11:15 a.m.
A Roman Catholic service is scheduled at Oakburn Farm at 11 30 a.m. with Rev Fr Mendyka presiding.
Holy Communion will be held at Oakburn locations in March 1963. Rev. Wm. Melnychuk appointed to lead services at 30 Oakburn and 31 Oakburn.
Pentecostal church lists Rev G J Beitel leading Sunday School at 10 30 a m Morning Service at 11 30 a m Evening Service at 7 30 p m Prayer Meeting Wednesday at 8 00.
A Legion Zone Rally in Sandy Lake on March 18 at the Ukrainian People's Home elected Zone 24 executives for a two year term. Walter Glenn of Strathclair was named Zone Commander with John Morton of Elphinstone as Deputy, Ernest Saranchuk of Sandy Lake as Secretary Treasurer, and Alf Sommers of Strathclair as Sports Convenor. Each branch will appoint a Zone Representative. The meeting ended with a lunch served by Sandy Lake Ladies Auxiliary.
Mrs S J Klym of Russell spoke at the Sandy Lake Home and School meeting in the Collegiate Auditorium. She urged parents to join and aid all children. A Boy's 4 H Club discussion followed and plans were made to contact the Agricultural representative. Lunch was served. Several locals visited post funeral events for Mike Lewandoski.
