Oakburn 4-H Weed Pullers Plan Rally Walk
The Oakburn Weed Pullers met March 9 at 8 p.m. in the Elementary School with 12 members. They will march with the Home Economics Club at the Rally. Four demonstrations are planned for the third week of April. Seeds and lessons were distributed, and president Wayne Muzylewski adjourned the meeting.

A large crowd attended the Vista Ice Carnival on Friday March 21 featuring costume judging for ages pre school to 16 and over. Queen Connie Nychuk crowned Jean Morris with prizes won by R Veitch A McDougall and Chris Hrysak. A broomball game between Vista and Rossburn closed the evening.

Rossburn Collegiate began sponsoring Dennis Jude O’Brien, a ten year old Anglo Indian boy from Kalimpong West Bengal, India, living at the Rev J A Graham Homes. Dennis, born August 23 1959 in Calcutta, lists English and Science as favorite subjects and describes duties at the home such as dormitory chores and kitchen helper tasks. He writes that he is happy for the sponsorship and enjoys reading, singing, and football.

The Rossburn Home and School Association held a well attended meeting in the Collegiate. Mr. J White chaired in absent officers. The group discussed sending a delegate to Winnipeg for the April 23 24 25 PTO meeting and potential questions about the school system. The May meeting may feature a film on parent child relations. The choir sang Scarborough Fair The Sound of Music theme and a folk tune. Mr G McKinnon spoke about updating the science course to give students more lab time. Mr J Kerbrat shared slides from his Europe summer trip. The gathering ended with coffee.
