John Kozyk 63 died March 16 at his Oakburn farm after a lingering illness. Services were held March 19 at the Oakburn RC church with Rev. Cieply officiating. burial followed in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were his six eldest sons Frank Joseph Paul Lloyd Karol and Eddie. Survived by wife Mary eight sons including Frank Joseph Lloyd Paul Karol Eddie Alex Lionel at home and two daughters Jane and eight grandchildren. Also two brothers two sisters and other relatives.

The RM Rossburn council met in the municipal office on a Saturday with full attendance. Minutes were read, one old age pension application approved, a $35 Red Cross grant approved, and two workers hired for the 1952 road season with set pay rates. An estimate by-law set the 46 mill rate for uncontrollable and controllable purposes, and $200 was authorized for the boundary with unorganized territory. Bills were approved and the council adjourned to meet again April 5 at 1 p.m.
Direct Furniture Store headed by Mr. D. Dennis announces a Rossburn opening soon. Michael Hrynyshyn will manage the Rossburn branch under the Winnipeg firm name. The former woodwork shop building is being renovated with a new floor and insul-brick siding ahead of a probable opening within two weeks. Local materials and carpenters are used for the project.
