Canada reports a new wave of the Bice Noir scam from Mexico involving letters dated February 8 1951 from Mexico City. A prisoner calling himself V says he manages a prison school and needs help to release 385000 in bank bills hidden in a trunk at a US Customs House. The con asks victims to pay processing expenses in Mexico City and promises one third of the money.

Rossburn Pioneer Robert Peden Dies at 72
Robert Peden aged 72 years and 8 months of Rossburn died at his home on Monday March 2 1951. The funeral was held from the Rossburn town hall on Wednesday March 14 at 2 pm. A full obituary will be published next week.

In Foxwarren Bonspiel the Rossburn rink led by skip examined as S Maydaniuk A J Saley D McIntyre and N Major won ten straight games after an initial bye due to weather. They won two events Ed Lowe Wood Crew Salmon Morris Braunstein and M Murray were defeated in matches including an 8-7 extra end win and a 14-5 score with an eight end. They earned two first prizes and ten pound total plus LeRoy wrist watches and electric pop up roasters. Fifty-one rinks entered the event.
