Rossburn Defeats Russell In Thrilling 4–0 Hockey Game

About seventy five hockey fans traveled to Russell Tuesday night March 5 to see Rossburn beat Russell 4 to 0. The Rossburn goalie starred stopping many Russell advances while Rossburn players McIntosh Veitch MeIntyre Lindsay Armstrong Clubley Cleland McIntosh Budz Von Hagen Harrison contributed as Russell fought hard and kept the game close through referees Yankow sti and Wiley.

Hockey Tournament At Roshamheli Brings Four Teams To Play

A small Roshamheli hockey tournament drew strong crowd turnout with four teams Russell Rossburn Indians and Torontos. Russell beat Rosburn 12 0 while Rossburn defeated Indians 6 1 in a rough match that prompted referee Irwin Harrison to intervene. Final Russell Rossburn game ended 4 3 with Rossburn ahead after a late rolling puck into their net.

Local residents return home from travels and medical care

Eric Stitt has returned home from overseas. Miss Margaret Carscadden will spend her holidays in Winnipeg. Mr. Ronald Kolachinski of Toronto is visiting town. Mike Urbanowski returned home after time in the city. Miss Cochrane has returned after two weeks’ holidays. Mr. C Tummins of Roblin visited the Stitts. Evan Stitt of Brandon spends two weeks vacation with his parents. Mrs D A Armstrong left for Winnipeg to be with her husband in Deer Lodge Hospital. A group of ladies honored Mrs E Hicks with a farewell. Mr and Mrs E Hicks will move to Boissevain. The Doughertys returned to Armstrong, Ontario after visiting relatives. Mr and Mrs M Slow and son Harold went to Winnipeg for a medical operation. They returned with Mr R Irwin. Mr and Mrs R J Giffen study rural communities for the University of Manitoba for the Royal Commission on adult education. Mrs Koleski returned from Vancouver after an operation.

Mrs Mary Collingridge returns home from Winnipeg where she stayed two months with her son Wilbert. Mrs Mamie Wakefield is visiting her mother Mrs Aivie Bolgon. Mr Bert Maning left last Thursday for Brandon with his mother.
