Australian teachers swap jobs with Canadian exchange officer
Mr Jim Procyk from Canada exchanges teaching and housing with Australian teacher Jim Howes at Wattle View Primary Ferntree Gully. Under the International Teaching Fellowship Scheme Victoria sends over 50 teachers to Canada US UK France Germany and Japan. Procyk’s family adjusts to Australia and he becomes a father again on February 4 while new year changes unfold.

Planning District office remains in Erickson through 1980
The South Riding Mountain Planning District held a February 27 meeting in Erickson presided by Gerald Pederson. Directors discussed funding of 20000 for the Development Plan, approved signing an agreement with the Provincial Government, and delaying subdivision of S E 18 17 17 W P M in Clanwilliam until the plan is complete. Next meeting set for March 26 at 1 30 P M.
