Oakburn hosts annual Mixed Bonspiel with 32 rinks
The Oakburn Mixed Bonspiel ran February 11 19 with 32 rinks. Visiting teams came from Sandy Lake Elphinstone Vista Shoal Lake and Rossburn. Prizes honored John Bucklaschuk and others with multiple Oakburn and visiting winners. Memorial Trophy presented by Margaret Smith.

L G D Group Plans To Restore Historic Site
The L G D Parkland Ukrainian Association met March 3 at Mrs Lena Nychek s home to discuss restoring the Leech Ukrainian Catholic Church and bell tower built in 1912. A monument for pioneers and spring fundraising were proposed with donations to Nychek or Tena Buternowski.

Eight and Under Hockey Tournament at Angusville
The Angusville Community Centre hosted six teams Roblin Russell Foxwarren Binscarth Birtle Grandview and Angusville-Rossburn for an 8 and under hockey tournament on a sunny March day. Roblin won the A-Side Trophy while Angusville-Rossburn captured the B-Side Trophy in the season’s final 1977 event.

Rossburn Hornets Windup Banquet Set For April 16
The Rossburn Hockey Windup on April 16 will be a Rossburn Hornets event only and not in partnership with the Rossburn Minor Hockey Association. Facilities cannot host all players and fans, so both groups schedule separate banquets. Tickets go on sale for the supper and dance to interested persons.

Pelly Trail Elementary Bonspiel and Youth Hockey Day at Angusville
Angusville Community Centre saw a busy Saturday with the Pelly Trail Elementary School Bonspiel and an 8 and under hockey tournament. Local fans urged more attendance to support Minor Mockey while young players showcased skill and fun on the ice. At home weekend visitors included Hiebert family of Morden and Mullin family of Roland, plus Sidoryk and David traveling to Beausejour for snowmobile races and meeting Stan and Nellie Greschuk.
