About 75 people attended the annual meeting of the Rossburn Co op Store where sales reached 75 802 dollars, down two percent from the prior year. Directors elected Orville McFeeters and Robt Lutt, with Bert Mitchell and Joseph Huston retiring. The co op showed improved cash position and assets over 30 000 dollars. loans from members declined. The Manitoba Co operative Wholesale reported over 5 million dollars in Manitoba sales.

A reunion of descendants of the Armstrong family from 1879 and 1888 gatherings was hosted Friday at Walter Snider’s home. Mrs. James Armstrong, Sr., and cousin William Thompson welcomed guests including James and Robert Stitt families, Walter and Gwen Snider, Wm Taylor and others. six four generation groups attended. Mrs Armstrong, age 92, remains in good health.

Sixteen Pound Trout Landed At Clear Lake
A Brandon sportsman caught a 16 pound four ounce trout at Clear Lake over the weekend, presumed largest ever landed there. The 33 inch fish had a 22 inch girth. Peden used a long spoon with canoe bait to reel it in, while Murray McIntosh fished nearby. Earlier the pair landed two trout near nine pounds each.

Eight Traffic Fatalities Reported For May
May saw eight fatal motor vehicle accidents in Manitoba per R. B. Baillie, Director of Traffic Safety. One Winnipeg pedestrian died. seven other fatalities occurred elsewhere. The month recorded 563 traffic accidents and 162 injuries, compared with 561 accidents, 130 injuries, and three deaths in May last year. In the first five months of 1951, road fatalities reach 24 versus 16 in the same period of 1950.

Canadian Rail Official Crump Receives Dual Engineering Honors
R N Crump of Montreal, vice president of the Canadian Pacific Railway, was awarded an honorary Doctor of Engineering by Purdue University at Lafayette Indiana after earning his B S and M E there. Marquette Local 3 Set to Meet at Rossburn July 11
J Schultz president of the Manitoba Farmers Union announced a series of June and July meetings across sixty Manitoba towns. The M F U now has 183 locals and 15 000 members and aims to grow to 60 000. Each meeting features two speakers and a local MP, urging farmers to elect district officers and a director to the Provincial Board. Marquette Local 3 will meet at Rossburn on Wednesday July 11.
