Rossburn Elementary held Track and Field Day for grades four to eight on June 21. Events included racing high jump long jump triple jump ball throw discus tug of war standing broad jump and more as eighth grader Kyle Ogibowski attempts the high jump under the eye of teacher Joe Zurbyk.
Education minister Drew Caldwell announced positive parent and teacher support for early Grade 3 English and Français and Grade 4 French Immersion assessments. Revisions will be implemented for the 2001-02 school year to clarify policy and ease classroom use while preserving the program’s goal of measuring reading and numeracy progress.
The Rossburn Agricultural Society plans a three day summer festival July 12 14 and 15 featuring a Redcoats of the Northwest reenactment visit and the re introduced quarter horse racing with pari mutual betting on fair grounds. The non profit group from several Manitoba towns includes about 30 performers.
