Manitoba Rural Development REDI program aid to towns announced

The Rural Economic Development Initiative REDI announced on April 14 will fund Infrastructure Development MBA Student Consulting Program Feasibility Studies and a Partners With Youth effort for ages 16 to 24. Applications are available from the REDI office in Winnipeg or local Rural Development offices.

STEP campaign promotes buckle up safety in Manitoba

The STEP enforcement drive from May 25 to June 7 issued nearly 2,300 tickets and warnings for failing to wear seat belts or secure child seats. Binscarth Visual Arts Festival Showcases Student Talent

The Binscarth School hosted a ten day Visual Arts Festival from May 25 to 28 featuring photography oil paintings paper sculpture chalk drawings and collages. Tour groups from Russell Faglis Foxwarren Birtle Waywayseecap and Oakburn participated with Linda Baker coordinating stations. Curt Schoultz led hour long drawing workshops. Cathy Muir and Colombe Chartier highlighted Plasticene and other media. The North Western Marquette Festival will be held in Russell for the next two years starting this fall.
