Oakburn United Church Ladies Aid will meet at Mrs Al Mart's home on Thursday June 27 at 3 00 pm. Winnipeg visitor Mr Keral called on his daughter and son in law Mr and Mrs T Ewashki. Local residents and relatives visited and traveled to Dauphin and Mikado Saskatchewan. Mrs Anna Yarish of Dunkburn died June 14 at Russell Sacred Heart Hospital aged 62. funeral at Oakburn Greek Catholic church June 17 with Rev. Charnie officiating. survived by husband Dmytro and nine grandchildren.

Alice Jewar daughter of Mr and Mrs John Jewar of Shoal Lake married Barney Devolatek eldest son of Mr and Mrs Victor Devolatek of Oakburn on Sunday June 9 at Shoal Lake. Rev Bednarz of Elphinstone officiated. Bridesmaids were Rose Zurbyk and Joyce Sitko. Groomsmen were John Labay and Walter Kowalski. A reception at the bride's parents' home followed, then a dance at Ukr Nat Home Hall in Oakburn.
