A miscellaneous shower for Janet Johnston a bride elect of June 28 was held Friday evening in the annex. Corsages were pinned on Janet her mother and Mrs J Serafin the groom elects mother. Mrs Paulette Gateson of Winnipeg gave the address. Gifts were opened and shared and Janet gave thanks. The group sang For She is a Jolly Good Fellow then a dainty lunch was served.

Mr and Mrs Norman Locke Golden 25th Anniversary
A 25th anniversary celebration for Mr and Mrs Norman Locke drew about seventy relatives and friends to the Buffalo Plains Inn Banquet Room on June 7 1969. The couple with their two sons Darrell and Richard and daughter in law Lou were joined by guests including Ed Collingridge and Mrs Collingridge as well as other longtime friends. A three tier wedding cake and a bronze yellow bouquet decor framed the event as Rich ard Locke served as master of ceremonies and two young girls entertained.

Meeting of the Registered Nurses of Birtle Russell Shoal Lake and Rossburn in Rossburn United Church annex had 21 attendees. A resolution called for forming a Manitoba Association of Registered Nurses district chapter in District 2. Avis Stitt Nora Parkinson reported on hospital meet resolutions from Brandon May 29 30. An organizational meeting will be held in September at Shoal Lake after chapter kits arrive from MARN. Avis Stitt Linda Slobodzian adjourned the meeting. Coffee followed.
