Manitoba Provincial Election Set For June 23

Voters in 56 of Manitoba's 57 constituencies go to the polls on Thursday June 23 with Churchills deferring to July 7. Polls open 8 am to 8 pm for British subjects aged 21 with one year in Manitoba and three months in their division. In Birtle Russell candidates are Rod Clement Liberal R E Kostesky NDP Robt G Smellie PC and current Minister of Municipal Affairs. Also notices that Game & Fish Bingo Ukr Catholic Bingo results and other articles are postponed to next week due to space.

Local Hospital Auxiliary Meeting May Session

The May meeting of the Hospital Auxiliary met at Vs. McKietiuk’s home. Officers approved minutes as read and discussed transportation costs, hall booking for a next year Mother’s Day Smorgasbord, a rummage sale on June 18 with coffee and doughnuts, and a committee planning meeting at Fulford’s home.

United Church Women Meet in June
