At a June 3 meeting in the church lobby fourteen members led by President Marion Antonin heard reports and discussed using completed kitchen facilities for all functions including funeral lunches. Five parcels of used clothing totaling about 90 pounds were sent to needy Brazilian children. The group announced the June 15 Annual Church Praznyk with a luncheon in the basement, and noted upcoming events including the Rossburn regional convention October 19 and the federal UCWL convention in Edmonton June 27 to 30 with one Rossburn delegate. catechism sessions by visiting sisters July 13 to 20. and plans for a November 8 raffle tea bake sale. The meeting adjourned for fall term.

CSP Foods selects site for oilseed plant in western Canada
CSP Foods Ltd Board approves detailed design for a new oilseed crushing plant to serve Manitoba and Saskatchewan farmers. The site near Harrowby on the Saskatchewan Manitoba border aims to supply canola and eventually sunflower seeds, with initial capacity of 600 tonnes per day and room for future expansion. Construction could start 1981 with startup in 1982 at an estimated 35 million dollars.
