Manitoba Rural Development grants support economic diversification
The Manitoba Rural Development Ministry will provide first quarter grants totaling 10032 to Parkland West Economic Development and 12360 to East Parkland Economic Development Corporation. Minister Len Derkach says the funds help retain expand or create local business opportunities and complement REDI and Grow Bonds programs.

Torch Run Highlights Local Support for Special Olympics
Constable Alain Tremblay led the Rossburn detachment during the 5th Annual Law Enforcement Torch Run through the town from May 25 to 29. Final day at the University of Manitoba opened the Special Olympics Summer Variety Games. R.E.S. student council donated 50 dollars and the R.C.S. student council contributed 40 dollars.

Shoal Lake Patrol Reorganization Cuts Local Highway Posts
The Shoal Lake RCMP Highway Patrol will cease to exist on June 15 as two Shoal Lake positions transfer to Minnedosa under a Brandon subdivision realignment. A 16 member unit will operate with a Corporal and four Constables across Brandon Minnedosa and Virden, reporting to a Brandon based Staff.
