Pool Elevators Directors Meeting Honors Curling Team

At the Rossburn Pool Elevator directors meeting held Monday, the Rossburn High School curling rink team of Silewich, Williamson, Kreshewski, and Barlow received miniature cups and the annual trophy. Vince Poloway arranged a June 25 Rossburn Town Hall talk with MFA speaker W J Parker. The association will sponsor two local youths aged 9 to 15 to the MFA camp at Clear Lake.

Hamiltons visit in Brandon and Vancouver trip

Red Cross Water Safety Classes Offered at Fishing Lake

The Red Cross will conduct water safety classes at Fishing Lake from July 16 to 27 with instructor Brian Brusegard. Returning test passers will be placed in a higher class. Interested people should register early and watch for notices later in the month. Rossburn Game & Fish Association

The 21st Roblin Russell district W I convention was held at Roblin Mission Hall with 87 attendees including Miss Collyer Dr Helgi Austman and Mrs Geo Black. Speakers included Mrs S J Klym on Adult Education and Mr James A Greaves on the Children's Aid Society. Foxwarren won 1st in Salada Foods Competition with Roblin placing 2nd. The Penny Parade raised 33.20 and district officers for 1962 63 were elected across multiple towns.

Lions Club Sports Day Returns in Rossburn with Prizes

Rossburn hosts the Second Annual Sports Day on June 16 with a senior baseball tournament offering 100, 50 and 25 dollar prizes. Last year Hamiota beat Shoal Lake in a dramatic final. Decker won the fastball event. Under-14 and under-12 baseball divisions, skill games, novelties, and a town hall dance cap the day, with entries due by Friday evening.

A May 27 shower in Oakburn honored bride-elect Melvyne Antonation who will marry on August 4. About 150 guests attended as she received a corsage and was escorted to her seat to the Wedding March played by Miss Gail Dunits.

Game & Fish Plan Clean-up At Lake

An executive meeting of the Rossburn Game & Fish Association on June 5 1962 at Slows Garage adopted minutes and announced a Silver Dollar Bingo at Fishing Lake on June 26 featuring nineteen games with prizes of two silver dollars and a blackout for 12 dollars. A general clean-up at the lake is slated for June 11 at 2 PM moving bath houses to the east public beach and clearing debris at the boat docks. The Manitoba Federation of Game and Fish Association convention will be at Clear Lake June 20 to 22. Red Cross classes run July 16 to 27 with instructor Brian Brusegard. Saturday bounty times run 11 AM to 12 PM and 7 PM to 8 PM at Slows. Ten fish per person is the limit. violators may face enforcement.
