Manitoba to crack down on drunk driving with Bill No. 3

Law Enforcement Torch Run Boosts Manitoba Special Olympics
Law enforcement members from Rossburn Elphinstone Shoal Lake and Hamiota joined the Special Olympics Torch Run on May 31. The parade path covered multiple towns ending in Brandon with a reception at the Royal Oak Inn. Coordinator Cpl Brian Lynch called it the largest fundraiser. Last year Manitoba raised 115000 with goals to reach 234000. The run continued on June 1 from Brandon to the University of Manitoba for opening ceremonies of the track meet.

Rossburn Council Approves Staff Additions And Fish Derby Support
At the regular RM Rossburn meeting Patti Hryciuk was hired for the Manitoba Career Start program starting June 12. Marion Antonin was named a citizen member of the Rossburn Foundation retroactive to April 26. The meeting also discussed licensing paperwork for two proposed limited service outfitters and a zoning compliance letter from the local government. The council endorsed an occasional liquor permit for June 4's Rossman Lake Fish Derby and Fun Day. They approved seal coating on road segments and urged Portage la Prairie base closure reversal.
