Vehicle contracts disclosure and warranty protections advised
Contracts continued from page 1 explain who pays for warranty repairs and what protects either party if a seller or warranty company folds. Mr. Mackling notes under the Consumer Protection Act dealers must disclose the full consumer financial obligation in financing and leasing contracts, including selling price service charges interest rate payments and payment dates. He warns that failure to disclose can reduce the interest cost to five percent and urges buyers to compare offers despite apparent low rates. For more information contact The Consumers' Bureau in Winnipeg at 956-2040 or toll-free 1-800-783-0067.
