Manitoba moves to unify electricity rates provincewide

The Manitoba government introduced legislation to equalize power bills across zones for Winnipeg towns rural areas. Manitoba Hydro would charge the same rate regardless of location, aiming to save rural and northern customers about 14.4 million yearly with Zone 3 saving around 10.11 monthly per rural resident. The plan follows strong hydro exports and seeks fair access to affordable electricity for all Manitobans.
