Rossburn field day highlights and parade winners
The Rossburn annual field day on May 27 featured a parade of Bryan Mears Ekford Perth Rossburn Sharman and Vista with Vista first and Rossburn second in the march. Orest Pawchuk and Iris McDonald led individual boys and girls winners, while the Rossburn school won the trophy with 156 points. Softball and dodgeball events followed, and track and field results show multiple Rossburn victors across high jump broad jump and sprint events.

Combined Farewell Party for Griffiths and Carol
A farewell party at Rossburn Town Hall honored Mr and Mrs J L Griffith and Carol who left for Flin Flon. Joe, former manager of the Co op store, becomes supervisor of the Flin Flon grocery department. Rose Drozda received a pressure cooker and will marry June 4. The event featured talents from local residents and honored new Co op manager Fred Hodgkinson. About 100 attendees. A junior track event and a Rossburn vs Birtle baseball game capped the day with a closing dance by Art Olson’s orchestra.
