McKenzie seeks urgent action on Rossburn plant closure
Wally McKenzie M.L.A. Roblin Russell urges Agriculture Minister William Uruski to intervene as Manitoba Dairy Co operative Ltd closes the Rossburn creamery effective July 19 1985. About 10 employees lose work while Manco will still receive cream locally. A meeting of Manco officials is requested to discuss halting the closure and supporting the dairy economy of Rossburn and Western Manitoba.

ELT signal prompts search near Oakburn for private plane
A July 23 rescue operation near Olha northeast of Oakburn traced an emergency locator transmitter signal to Leo Clement’s small private aircraft at a grass airstrip. Clement, who hadn’t flown in nine days, questioned whether the ELT was activated as Transport Dept officials investigate the trigger cause.
