Park council meeting notes approve transfers and bills
Local Government District of Park held a July 14 meeting in Russell Manitoba. Reeve Russell Nowalkowski led discussions on administrator transfers between Alexander and Park effective July 28 1980. Councillors attended various district meetings and audits approved June 1980 statements and accounts totaling 34191.97. The district declined responsibility for any fires arising from the Call of the Wild Music Festival July 25 26 27 near Boggy Creek and the Duck Mountains.

Existing Sandy Lake water lines to be replaced
The Manitoba Water Services Board and Rural Municipality of Harrison will replace an aging cast iron water main in Sandy Lake at a cost of 25,000 shared by the Province and the Municipality. The 1968 system has corroded, causing frequent breaks. two other sections were replaced in 1978. Construction should finish by late fall.

Grant approved for South Riding Mountain Planning District
Manitoba to provide up to 37200 to the South Riding Mountain Planning District to assist in preparing development plans and planning statements. Municipal Affairs Minister Doug Gourlay announced the funds cover consultant services. the district, established February 1979, includes Clanwilliam and Harrison RM’s, Erickson village, and the Park boundary segment along Riding Mountain National Park.

Rossburn Post Office to mark 100 years with ceremony
Canada Post celebrates a centennial milestone for the Rossburn Post Office on August 1 with a two hour coffee and birthday cake party at 10:00 A.M. Postmaster William M.
