Community Calling rollout approved by Manitoba Public Utilities Board
The Manitoba Telephone System gains approval to begin its revised Community Calling service on August 1. Regions including Rossburn and nearby towns will receive the service later, while Shoal Lake and others with newer equipment wait until 1995. Pricing changes favor earlier recipients with premium reductions and flat rate zones face a minor increase.
