Manitoba approves 1.2 million top-up for universities
Education Minister Jerry Storie announced 1.2 million in additional funds to the Universities Grants Commission for Manitoba universities. Total 1987 88 funding rises to 175.6 million, up 9.7 million from last year with 8.7 million in operating grants and 1 million in capital grants as part of the 20 million Universities Development Fund. Provincial grants have risen 50 percent since 1981 despite reduced federal support.

Parkland hosts seven sites for Summer Regional Games
