Rossburn Bantams earned the right to represent the North West region in the MMB A playdowns by sweeping Isabella in two straight games. In Arrow River the score was 10 2 and at Rossburn Fair Day the 8 7 final featured a six run rally by the visitors and Nicky Kalaniuk s homer that put Rossburn ahead. Don Menzie pitched both games with Allan Boychuk catching. Five percent of gate receipts go to the Provincial Association and other players noted. Voting Campaign Now Underway
The Canadian Chamber of Commerce launched a national non partisan Get Out The Vote Campaign on July 10 to mobilize its 7006 member Boards of Trade and Chambers of Commerce and about 2350 member companies. Elevator worker survives 65 foot fall at Rossburn
Ernie Horobetz 23 of Willowbrook Saskatchewan a National Elevator Construction Crew member slipped from a scaffold at the local elevator last Saturday and fell about 65 feet. He landed on ground near the drive-way roof and was rushed to Rossburn Hospital in not serious condition. Doctors say he has unusual luck and will be discharged this weekend. The Pool Elevator and National elevator projects boost Rossburn grain capacity to over 200000 bushels once complete.

Rural Council Holds Regular Meeting
The Rural Municipality of Rossburn council met on Saturday July 4 with full attendance. They approved minutes, sought a provincial grant for a Birdtail Creek bridge at the boundary with the Indian Reserve, passed a by law to acquire title to part of lot 27 plan 555 in Rossburn, and approved trucks up to half ton can park on Mountain Ave business section. An order for more culverts was placed and the council scheduled the next meeting for August 1 1953 at 1 p.m.
