The Rossburn Rural Municipality council met in the Rossburn Council Chambers with Councillors Hyra Gawryluk and Dnistran present. They adopted the June 30 1967 financial report and approved a $50 grant to the Branch Lines Association of Manitoba for 1967.
Rossburn seniors carried the town colors to two Manitoba tournaments. At Strathclair they beat Oak River 3-2 before losing 12-7 in the final to Strathclair. Don Luhowy earned the win. In Eddystone they defeated Lundar 6-0 with Tony Kaleychyn pitching, then fell to Ashern in the semifinal after Kaleychyn again pitched. rossburn enters Manitoba Junior Playoffs with rivals Brandon Flin Flon and Binsearth.
Infant Thomas Matthew Lepis was christened at Sacred Heart Catholic Parish Lumby on July 2 with Rev Franks officiating. Godparents Mrs. Harry Ostash of North Surrey and Mr. Nick Bidulka of Vernon stood as sponsors. Reception followed at the family home.
Angusville hosts a Centennial Baseball Tournament on Sunday July 23 at 10:00 a.m. with prizes 150 for first, 100 for second, 50 for third and 50 for fourth. A Midway and airplane rides are offered. Official park opening of the RM of Silver Creek and Angusville occurs at 2:00 p.m.
The Rossburn seniors played Tuesday in hot sunny conditions for the 58th Rossburn Fair while Strathclair defaulted to Binscarth. Rivers beat Rossburn 6 to 4 in the Bantam A playoff. 12 and under results show Rossburn and Binscarth splitting.
